jamie & chris get hitched!

chris was one of our prize winners from the raleigh bridal show back in january... i'm not quite sure i should say lucky him, or lucky us! from the moment i met this couple at starbucks, i knew that jen and i would have an amazing time working with them. they were so excited about their wedding, and most importantly about marrying each other! i loved listening to the two of them talk about all the ideas they had about their upcoming wedding. everything was super personal, right down to the "chucks" they wore (which are both of their favorite footwear in every day life). chris even brought a white ball cap to wear after the ceremony, because he is never seen without his hat. they stayed so true to themselves, and their personal style as a couple, that it only made their wedding more fun for everyone that was there!

congrats to jamie and chris! the two of you are a gorgeous example of true love done right! :)

this shot was taken in homage to their darling cake topper... the bride and groom were posed just like this on top of their polkadotted cake! perfect representation of how fun loving jamie and chris are as a couple.

pumpkin pickin'

it's been awhile since i did a personal post, but what better to share than pumpkins!  we took caden out to the cox farms fall festival a couple of weeks back, but we had to hit up our favorite local place to get our pumpkins.  it is a church right down the road from us in alexandria & every year they put out quite the display of pumpkins.  caden had a great time & really learned how to pick the perfect pumpkin this year.  thanks to all the lessons from daddy, of course...

joan & nathan, engaged!

WARNING: some of these photos are HOT!!!  these two knew how to work the camera!  and, they also knew what they wanted for their engagement session.  you're in love, you're getting married, why not show it?!  when else can you snuggle, make-out & get some hot photos of the two of you? :)  ok, now that i've put out the disclaimer, i can tell you all about the session (besides its hotness).  we met joan back in january at the VA wedding show with her friend amy (whose wedding we are also shooting).  these girls were so much fun & i think they came back to our booth over 3 times that day.  then, i met nathan & knew that this was just a great couple.  they are getting married in new jersey next june, so they wanted to do their engagement session somewhere in the DC area that had special meaning for the two of them.  we headed out to their favorite winery, ingleside vineyards.  we had a BLAST!!  we did a little tasting, had a photo session, hung out with some family & had some more wine.  perfect session if you ask me!  enjoy the sneak peek you two...can't wait for the wedding!!

anita & zack, married!

wow, this was such a great wedding!  first of all, these two are so in love, it is just so darn cute!  after the "you may kiss the bride" moment, they couldn't get enough & had to give each other a little squeeze. loved it!  but, the ceremonies (yes, ceremonies) made their wedding so unique.  anita & zack decided to combine their cultures & have 2 ceremonies.  it was amazing to see their families come together & celebrate the both of them.  brooks & i had never witnessed a hindu wedding ceremony, so this was such an awesome experience for us.  the colors, the dress & the ceremony itself were all beautiful!  anita also built in lots of time for pictures before the ceremony (which we LOVE!!!  have i said this before??!) so we got some great images of just the two of them without having to deal with all the rushing around after the ceremonies.  they decided to have a "first look" & this moment when they saw one another for the first time on their special day was so precious.  they are completely lost in love! :)  it was so great getting to know them over these last few months, from our first meeting over pizza to their super-fun engagement session all over dc.  hope you two are enjoying the honeymoon in portugal!  thank you for allowing us to be a part of the big day!  

we are so lucky that all of our brides have excellent taste in shoes!

jessica & jonathan, married!

we knew we'd have a lot in common with jessica...she is a graphic designer & loves photography.  perfect match for us!  she & jonathan were married at the rock barn golf club & spa in conover, nc this past saturday evening.  we woke up to not so great weather (ok, my feet were wet for 8 hours, so yep, it was pouring all day!) but that did not phase jessica.  the outdoor ceremony was tented & it actually stopped raining for the hour we needed it to, the bride & groom shots!  so, everything turned out perfect.  jessica & jonathan set aside a bunch of time for pictures (thank you guys!!) so were able to go out on the golf course & get some great shots of just the two of them before the ceremony.  we can't say enough about how much we love "first looks"!!  congrats again to the two of you!  hope you are enjoying the honeymoon! :)
