lindsey & jason, married!

here are a few images from the super-fun wedding of lindsey & jason at the belmont country club in ashburn, va. we spent the first part of the day hanging out with lindsey & her bridesmaids while they got ready.  lindsey's maid of honor, lauren, is actually getting married next month, so these girls were so excited not only for their own big day, but for each other.  lauren's toast definitely brought some tears to our eyes! :)  the ceremony was held outside on the lawn of the country club on what had to be the most beautiful day of the year!  the weather was so PERFECT!  after the ceremony it was time for some yummy food & serious dancing.  lindsey & jason are enjoying their honeymoon in italy right now, hope you guys are having a blast!  you know we are so jealous, right? :)

lindsey, bridal!

last night, brooks & i had a rockin' time at lindsey & jason's wedding.  what a beautiful day!  more of it to come later, but first, i can finally share lindsey's bridal session that i shot back in july! yeah!!  lindsey is absolutely stunning & one of the nicest girls you'll ever meet!  she wanted to do her bridal session out at morven park in leesburg, va.  what a beautiful location!  and, it has lots of meaning to lindsey as well, since her dad works there.  which was so great, because we got to shoot in places that i'm sure most people aren't allowed. :)  her dad gave me a quick tour & some of the history behind the mansion, which i just loved.  we had a great time walking around & finding different places to shoot.  wish i could go there all the time!  thanks, lindsey...

this is my favorite from the day! seriously, this girl is stunning!!

we snuck into the carriage house & grabbed a few shots there...

anderson family

i feel incredibly blessed that i have 2 amazing women in my life that i can call my best friends.  ironically, i met both of them when they moved in down the street from me in NC.  the ladies of "clear wabba habba" as we were called. :)  there were a few more that made up our gang, but i digress.  i remember the first time i met jana, i had just moved to NC that summer, didn't know a soul & was out walking my dogs on a fall morning.  i saw this lady with 2 of the cutest little girls i had ever seen & she practically jumped out into the street to talk to me.  apparently, she didn't know too many people, either (ha, ha, ha, just kidding, jana).  we had a great conversation & i remember telling scot that night about this really nice neighbor i had met & really hoped i would see her again.  well, 5 years later, we've both moved from "clear wabba habba" (really, it was clearwater harbor), but we are still the best of friends.  labor day weekend, the wilson family went to hang out with the anderson family at jana's in-laws place in wilmington.  i should ahhh-mazing place in wilmington.  thought we would take advantage of the location & grab some family shots.  and, if you ever want the story of why it became known as "clear wabba habba", you'll have to ask brooks & i over margaritas. :)

liz & jarrett, engaged!

i met up with liz & jarrett last monday afternoon hoping the rain would stay away long enough for our session downtown.  it did!!  we even saw a ray of sun for just a moment.  liz & jarrett are getting married this october in boston, but she contacted us a couple of weeks ago because they really wanted a "dc" engagement session.  they met while working on the hill a few years ago & wanted that part of their relationship captured.  i was all for it!  one of my goals last year when we moved to dc was to do a session downtown, so thanks guys for helping me reach it!  they are such a fun couple who are obviously in LOVE!  and, they were so patient while i asked them all kinds of questions about what it was like working on the hill.  those of you who know me, know i'm a political junkie.:) jarrett led us to all of the locations & then let me do what i wanted, which was great! thanks guys for a great afternoon!  good luck with the wedding...we wish you both all of the best!            check out their entire session on pictage
